Scottish Senior Men Play-Offs Quarter -Finals

Greek forward Greg Foussas led Fury with 20 pts as they advanced to the Semi-Finals of the National Play-Off Championship in front of another packed home crowd. In a Euro scoring night for Fury, Austrian Adam Hammerschmidt had 18 with Fury’s Lithuanian guard Eddie Leginas on 17. Fury led by 10 at the half and 20 by the end of the third when they ran their bench and then Reign pulled the Falkirk side back to within 6 with under a minute to play. But Fury coach John Bunyan had already returned to his starting 5 just before the gap had reduced to single figures and down the stretch the Euro trio saw Fury home with an 11pt win. Fury will now await the winner of the Edinburgh Kings – Glasgow Storm clash to see who they face next Friday at the Mariner in the Semi-Finals which will also be the last ever competitive game played at the Mariner SC ! Fury Headcoach John Bunyan commented to Heraldsport –‘We knew coming into this game Reign could give us a tough game and we had to focus throughout. They have aggressive gaurds, have guys that can knock down the three and a bit size and have given teams a tough time this season despite their final position in the Championship. Going into the Play-Offs as no 1 seed there is a lot of expectation on our team as we go for the treble and the fact Reign were 8th seed did not really justify the potential they have. We worked hard as a team and it was the kind of game you want before what will be a tough semi-final no matter who we play’.
