Falkirk Signs Express Fury U18 Junior Men made it a dream Scottish Cup Final week-end for the Falkirk club, when they were the 3rd Fury team to win their Scottish Cup Final. The 9pt 73 - 64 win gives Fury Junior Men a ' Three peat " after winning the Scottish Cup in 2024 , 2025 and now 2026. It was also a treble winning season so far for Fury over their Cup Final opponents West Lothian Wolves. With Wolves currently top of the JM Scottish Division 1 , their only two league losses have been to Fury, now 3 losses with the Cup Final win. Going into the Final the game was very much on a knife edge and it was widely seen as too close to call. It was Fury who took the early initiative jumping out to a 10 -2 lead after just over 4 minutes of play. Andrew Henderson and Taylan Ertekin shared Fury's initial points. Fury continued to have a strong opening quarter going 20 -7 ahead for a 13pt lead that was trimmed to 10 by the end of the period. The lead remained around the 10 pt mark until Wolves reduced the gap to 6 and a half time score of 37 - 31. Oliver Coffey got Fury off the mark in the 3rd to stretch the lead to 9 pts. As the quarter progressed it was Fury who eventually found momentum as they took the score out to a 16 pt gap and a 53 -37 score line with 4 minutes left in the third. But once again Wolves found a way back, reducing the difference to only 7 by the end of the third quarter and a 54 -47 score line. Wolves then reduced the gap to gap to 3 and it was game on for both teams. However Fury took the game out to 8 pts where that gap remained until Mario Pizarro sank two free throws putting Fury back into a double digit lead at 69 -59. With both teams exchanging baskets, the game ran out with Fury taking the win by 9.
The Finals MVP was Fury's Taylan Ertekin with a great double - double of 25pts and 11 rebounds. Taylan was the Play-Offs MVP last season. Andrew Henderson had a big game with 20pts personal with Mario Pizarro on 9. Jack Robertson had 6 pts with Adama Hainey, Oliver Coffey and Aaron Robertson sharing 12. Ibraheem Ahmed played a solid 15 minutes with Joel Ramsay and 3 of Fury's U16 CM - Jay Bunyan, Will Claydon and Nathan Cole completing the line - up.
Fury's Junior Men's Coach Keith Bunyan commentated to Heraldsport after the Cup Final win -
" Getting the win was never going to be easy and I have to first of all praise the effort and energy from my players and my Assistant Coaches Ewan and Greg as, as always with our group its a real team effort. Wolves have shown they are a very good squad and for us to get 16 pts clear in the third quarter was ultimately a big key in the win. Their rebounding got them back into the game and down the stretch we had to continue to work hard to get the win. The consistency as a club at U18 Men we have shown over the years is a real positive for the way we develop players at Fury. This is another special Fury group of players and we will be working hard to get to the Final 4 and make a real go at winning the Play -Offs. "
