FURY CADET MEN IN 35PT BIG WIN OVER RIVALS BLAZE
SONY CENTRE FURY 89 BOROUGHMUIR BLAZE 49
Scottish Cadet Men’s Division1 Basketball Championships
A tight game throughout was finally blown open at the start of the final quarter when Fury broke out to a 20 pt plus lead and there was no way back for visitors Blaze.
3 up at the end of the first at 19-16 Fury moved to 8 up at the half as Scotland Internationals Jack Davidson and Jake Cavanagh stepped up the offence for the Falkirk side. A third period of 19-12 saw solid defence and a 15 pt lead going into the last quarter. But it was the final period that gave Fury such a commanding victory, 28-8 meant a win that keeps Fury in the race for a top 4 place in what is an extremely competitive league.
James Morrison produced a solid game at both ends of the floor with 10pts with a great performance from Jisin Joseph who in the absence of Fury’s two starting guards ran the Fury offence. Davidson and Cavanagh were a cut above with 31 and 24pts respectively. A mention also to Gabe McArthur who like Archie Brookes worked hard in defence and made contributions in offence.
