FURY JM & CM DIVISION 1 SIDES FALL TO ST.MIRREN
A 72 -58 U16 Men's loss was followed up by the defeat of Fury’s back to back season Championship winning U18 Men's team by 57-38. The games were played at Fury’s home venue at Grangemouth SC and the U16 Division1 side competed strongly for the first 3 periods but fell out the game in the 4th. Ahead 21-20 after the first, Fury fell to 4 behind at the half. A tied 16 apiece 3rd quarter, meant it was all to play for in the finals stanza. However Fury’s offence deserted them with a 14- 4 Saints run. For the Fury side who are all U15 and all have another season to play at U16 this was a solid performance against a Paisley side who had a number of final year cadets in their side. Harvey Berry top scored for Fury with 15 and Robbie Gilmour finished with 10. The Junior Men, who may struggle to get the ‘threepeat’ of Scottish Division 1 Championship titles, were always behind against an aggressive St.Mirren side who led by 6 at the end of the first period and 16 at the half . The 3rd quarter was Fury’s as they held the visitors to 7pts and reduced the game going into the final period to 11. But Fury could not get closer with Saints running out winners by 19. Fury were led by Jake Cavanagh and Douglas Beattie who shared 20pts.
