Scottish Div 1 Sony Centre Fury U14 Girls 107 Lady Rocks 5

For Fury's under age Woman's teams it was closely contested games for the CW and JW against Boroughmuir at Grangemouth SC, however the U14 Girls game saw a strong Fury side take the points, in a game that the Lady Rocks, despite the secoreline, worked tirelessly throughout. With Headcoach John Bunyan working with coaches Tianna Sugars and Eve Balloch, there was much for Sugars and Balloch to look forward to in taking one of Fury's top sides in the season ahead. With half the team coming from former Scottish Jr NBA Winners St.Margaret's PS in Falkirk, this is a group of players who have focussed on their basketball for, already, a number of years. Poppy Duncan, Rachael Dagger, Daisy Lawson, Jessica Cram and Clara Baines are the St.Mags five and with Kyla Torrance and Bethany Snedden also key players, these 7, also playing up to the CW team, it's little wonder this is a strong group. Younger players Darcy McKay, Ruby Hepburn and Isla Jack also showed their potential with solid displays and confirmed what a great group this is. (Leila Gillespie completes the squad but was unavailable for the game). The training the players have done, in at times difficult conditions, in the past 16 months is a credit to them and the execution and teamwork in the game was a credit to the whole U14 Girls team. Big thanks again to all the visiting clubs in working with Fury re all the covid and game arrangements - it was great to see families supporting their players and joying the Grangemouth SC facilities. A further thanks to the staff at GSC, who were working over the week-end to help make our games run smoothly and the Management at GSC for their meetings with us to ensure the best possible game days! Also the floor and table officials - thanks - great job and - really important that we have great officials controlling the top games in Scotland, where players develop with their coaches, enjoy the game safely and in a great settings like GSC!!
